Tuscany Renovation Project

The Tuscany Renovation project consisted of:

  • Family-owned Villa located in Arlia, Lunigiana region of Tuscany, Italy
  • Acted  as owner’s representative during general construction bidding and overall project manager
  • Served as project liaison between owner and the contractor

Project Highlights:

  • Demolition of the existing roof. Installation of a new roof using wood , insulation and coverage with antiqued Portuguese tiles. Resurfacing the under roof with “cotto” tiles cm 40 x 70 x 2
  • Restoration of the existent external house walls facing the courtyard. The work will include; taking away the plaster from the surfaces, cleaning of the stones under the plaster, replacement of the stones where necessary, covering as much as 10% of the wall surfaces with colored water repellant plaster. The 10% represents the spaces between the stones
  • Restoration of the existent internal house walls. The work include; taking away the plaster from the surfaces , cleaning of the stones under the plaster, replacement of the stones where necessary, covering as much as 10% of the wall surfaces with colored water repellant plaster. The 10% represents the spaces between the stones
  • Restoration of the existing windows and entrance door.
  • Resurface of the floor of the entire room by releveling and covering with “cotto” tiles
  • Installation of three steel I beams to reinforce the roof and acting as catene
  • Remove and replace patio doors and windows
  • Demolition and restauration of the existing stone fireplace
  • Repainting of exterior 
  • Installation of necessary electrical wiring and heat radiators
  • Installation of concrete reinforcement of the on three sides of the walls
